How to find what you want on the IASD site

Whether this is your first time on the site or you have been visiting us for years, this hints page may help you locate just exactly what you need.

1. After reading the hints below, check the index to the left for your area of interest. Use the Edit/Search menu on your browser to search for keywords on any particular page.

2. Check our Whole Site Map

3. Use our Speedy Search Engine to find your topic using keywords.

4. Post your request on the Bulletin Board.

5. Be sure to look below for the general topic area you want some help with and then read the short but helpful summary. If you prefer to see the whole site in one big view, see our Site Map

Also, if you would like to study a topic in depth and need a book, check out our bookstore.

If your search for information is not rushed, we highly recommend that you attend one of our Regional or International Conferences.

  There are some papers in the journal Dreaming and the Dream Time sections onliine. Many of our articles are in hard copy print. As a member you receive both. The journal Dreaming is available at many major libraries and universities. Subscription and ordering information are available here.

• an interpretation for my dream 
  The focus on this site is the general exploration and study of dreams and dreaming, not specific interpretations. We recommend you read our ethics statement before soliciting or offering any dream interpretation.

• information about an aspect of dreaming  
  Try the Common Questions sections first. If the answer you want is not there, you can use the Search engine. Also, for a variety of opinions, try the bulletin board.

• answers about nightmares  
  Try the Nightmares guide and then use one of the keyword search engines. Also, for a variety of opinions, try the bulletin board.

• answers about lucid dreaming  
  Post your questions on the bulletin board.

• interpretations of my dream
  The focus on this site is for the general exploration and study of dreams and dreaming, not specific interpretations. We recommend you read our ethics statement before attempting or soliciting dream interpretation. Also we have provided a selection of books, which can be ordered right from this site.

  IASD offers workshops and groups at conferences and special workshops, but at this time there is no ongoing group or network of groups sponsered by IASD. You may post a request on our  bulletin board.

• getting a book about dreams 
  If you are not sure what you want, try the bookstore. There are also reviews of books from the Dream Time Bibliophile which are also very helpful. Always post your requests on the bulletin board, so others may suggest books as well.

• finding a school or classes on dreaming
  IASD does not offer a regular program outside of our conferences. However, we have a project that locates and lists Graduate Schools that offer dream education. Another IASD project is development of a dream doctoral program. In addition, we offer Continuing Education (CE) units at many of our conferences.
